Chara 1.0 privacy notice

Applies to Chara 1.0, the on-device wardrobe edition. Updated October 11, 2026.

Wardrobe data

You can use this version without an account. Your wardrobe items, personal photos, outfits, wishes, purchase amounts, fit notes, care records and wear calendar are stored in the app on your device. This profile does not provide automatic cloud synchronization or automatically upload your wardrobe.

Photos and background removal

When you choose a photo, the app copies it to local app storage. Camera permission is requested when you choose to take a photo. Supported devices use Apple Vision for background removal on the device. Remote image processing is disabled in this profile. You can enter text records without providing a photo.

Export, sharing and backup

When you request an export, the app can open the system share menu for an outfit image, CSV or backup. Backups may contain private images, prices, notes and history. Choose your destination carefully. Copies saved to another app or cloud drive are controlled by that service and your settings; Chara cannot recall them automatically.

Retention and deletion

Deletion and archiving are different: archiving keeps history. Saved outfits and wear records may retain historical snapshots as described in the interface. You manage device backups, exported files and shared copies separately. Export a backup before changing phones or removing the app; unbacked-up local data may otherwise be lost.

Local imports

Chara reads the export files you choose on your device. PDF and order screenshot text recognition runs on-device using Apple frameworks. Nothing is added until you confirm. Chara does not connect to the merchant Shopify store. Customer addresses and order totals are not automatically copied into clothing records.

Adding a Lolibrary item link

When you ask the app to read a Lolibrary item URL, it requests that page and its item images. It does not attach your wardrobe, purchase amounts or private notes. Review the details before adding them locally. This is a separate feature from full catalog search; the full remote catalog is disabled in this profile.

Other network features

Cloud accounts, automatic wardrobe synchronization, online sharing links, the embedded Studio and Showcase are disabled in this profile. It does not include advertising or remote in-app behavior analytics. External links, email and system cloud drives are handled by their respective services. Device backups and system diagnostics depend on Apple and your device settings.
